10-year-old girl detained in Siberia for dealing heroin

RIA Novosti

Novosibirsk, March 28 - A 10-year-old girl has been detained in Novosibirsk on suspicion of selling heroin, a spokesman for the Federal Drug Control Service said Tuesday.

"The drug dealer, a 10-year old girl, failed to get rid of the evidence before she was detained," the spokesman said. "About 30 heroin doses ... were found in her apron during a search. The girl was hiding her money in a yogurt tub and on that day her earnings were about 2,000 rubles ($72)."

According to the service representative, the girl, who told police she had come to see her aunt and had been asked by her to sell some unknown product for three-four days, was selling single doses of heroin from the window of her apartment.

The spokesman said the girl would spend a month at a detention center for juvenile delinquents, adding that everyone who had made her sell the heroin would be punished under the law.
