Police find child sitting on 63 packets of cocaine

JACKSON, Mich. (AP) -- Police in Jackson say a car seat was being used to carry more than just a child.

An officer who stopped a Cadillac early today during an investigation into a nightclub shooting found a 3-year-old boy sitting on 63 packets of cocaine in the back seat.

The 30-year-old driver from Detroit and his 29-year-old passenger from Albion were arrested.Police are investigating whether the men were involved in the shooting incident.

The car apparently matched the description of a car seen leaving the club. No one was hurt.

The toddler's father told police he asked one of the men to take the child to relatives in the Albion area, but said he was not aware of any drugs in the car.
