'Full House' Star Reveals Meth Addiction
(UPI) Jodie Sweetin grew up in the public eye as Stephanie Tanner on ABC's Full House from 1987-95, but her life took a dangerous turn after the cameras stopped.
"Growing up in the business you have to grow up very fast -- you do have a different type of childhood, that has its benefits and it has its drawbacks," Sweetin, 24, told ABC News.
After Full House, Sweetin returned to high school, went to college and was married to a Los Angeles police officer by age 20.
Married, bored and unemployed she started experimenting with drugs and soon found herself hooked on methamphetamines, she said. She was living a double life -- married to a police officer while using meth daily.
Her former Full House family -- including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Bob Saget and John Stamos -- staged an intervention and Sweetin wound up spending six weeks in a drug rehab facility.
Sober since last March and going through a divorce, Sweetin told ABC News she is ready to resume acting.
"I want to make movies, TV series, wherever the career takes me," she said. "I really hope this isn't the last people hear of me. In fact, I would like to make this a footnote in my career, not the end."

I always wondered what had happened to her. Interesting how she chose a secret life, one way different to her tv life that everyone was able to watch...
