Santa Rosa Marijuana Grower was Shot in Head
CBS 5 San Francisco
Santa Rosa police said a man found dead in his garage where he had been growing marijuana plants was shot once in the head.
Sgt. Steve Bair said police believe robbery of the plants was the motive for the murder of 31-year-old Andre Grant. His body was found by a relative in the garage at his home at 747 Wheeler St. Monday night.
Bair said Grant had converted the garage into an indoor marijuana grow room and that it appears 25 plants had been cut from their pots and taken.
Bair said the gunshot wound was not apparent Monday and an autopsy on Wednesday revealed Grant was shot. Grant died sometime Monday afternoon, Bair said.
Police said it is the city's first homicide this year.
