Moss in new cocaine allegations

Times Online

There were fresh problems for Kate Moss last night as new photos emerged of her posing in front of what appears to be cocaine. The pictures, said to have been taken in a hotel in South Africa in 1998, show the model holding a rolled-up tube in front of four lines of white powder.

She allegedly took the drug minutes before meeting Nelson Mandela, who was then President of South Africa. Ms Moss, 24 at the time, was in the country for a fashion show and had been invited along with other guests, including Naomi Campbell, to a formal evening at Mr Mandela’s mansion. A former friend claimed that he and Ms Moss shared lines of cocaine in the toilet as Mr Mandela greeted his guests.

“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” Gavin Maselle, 36, a model booking agent, told The Sun. “We were there at Mandela’s house in the Bishop’s Court area of Cape Town and Kate was doing coke.”

Ms Moss, 32, checked herself into a rehabilitation clinic in Arizona after pictures that appeared to show her snorting cocaine were published six months ago.
