Federal Drug Control Service objects to legalization of marijuana
Interfax
Moscow - April 17 (Interfax) - Russia will not legalize marijuana, a source in the Federal Drug Control Service told Interfax on Monday.
"Any legalization of marijuana in Russia is out of the question," he said.
The media said that supporters of the legalization of marijuana had asked Moscow authorities to permit a hemp march in early May.
"Supporters of the legalization of this drug had tried to hold actions in previous years, but their attempts were defeated. I think Moscow authorities would not allow their action. If they attempt an unauthorized action, the campaigners will face administrative responsibility," the source said.
The legalization of light drugs in Russia would have extremely negative consequences, the source said.
